Hundred Acre Wood Nursery
Location:
Santa Clarita, CA, USA
Type:
Private House
The Hundred Acre Wood Nursery was transformed from a pungent, drabby, and unwelcoming room to an enchanting, cozy, and elegant space.
We created a timeless nursery that gives hints of the Hundred Acre Wood without blasting a full Disney Winnie-the-Pooh vibe. By utilizing warm colors, hints of bees, honeycomb shaped woodowork, classic art, and old fashioned style Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed animals- we were able to incorporate this theme in a tasteful way.
We continued the enchanting design by blending other decor such as hot air ballons, hanging pieces to catch the imagination of little ones, art, and even a Native American drum to double as a side table.
To showcase the spiritual dedication of their child to the Lord, there is also a sign with Proverbs 31:25 that is placed high above the changing station wall facing the crib.
We pray this nursery brings comfort to the little one and makes her feel special. We hope it becomes a space that encourages the use of her imagination.
Due to the room's design, we believe the child will appreciate this space for many years just as it is. But, when the day comes that she is older and may want a change- the color pallet coould portenially be something that stays. It is not a "kiddy" type of paint selection. Even if the family moves, the space could work for any age group.
